An Imperfect Perfect Beach in Mexico

Perfection or Not

An imperfect perfect beach in Mexico

When we visited this beach near the town of San Cristanto in Yucatan, Mexico, I felt as though we had found the perfect beach. After all, it had sand and water, which of course are the main ingredients of the beach. Besides all of that, it also had some umbrellas for shade and some palm trees back from the shore. And best of all, it had very few people there.

However, others might look at this same beach and see lots of imperfections. There was lots of wild growth all over the place, as you can see here. Out at the edge of the water, lots of dead seaweed had washed up onto the shore. There were some limited restroom facilities, but I did not check them out. And there was not any place nearby to get some food unless you had brought some with you.

For us, those positives definitely outweighed all of the negatives. Even with all of those things that some might complain about, it was just perfect for us. And I didn’t hear any complaints from the others who were in our excursion group, either. Despite those few possible negatives, everyone seemed to have a great time there. Laura and I would definitely go back and visit again!

Life Lesson

Just about everything you will ever encounter has its positives and negatives. No matter how hard you look, you will never find anything that is absolutely perfect. There will always be faults and flaws.

You can focus on those flaws and be miserable all of the time. Or you can focus on the good things and enjoy most everything in life. Even if everything is not absolutely perfect.

Don’t focus on the negatives, especially if you cannot change them. Deal with them as best as possible and ignore what you can’t change.

Focus on the positives. That will make you a much more positive person. Positively!

Bible Verse

Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable—if there is any moral excellence and if there is any praise—dwell on these things. - Philippians 4:8

About the photo

Not much to say here. Just another fisheye photo of a beautiful beach. The standard processing, with some decreasing of highlights and increasing of shadow detail. Some increased color saturation.

But really, this beach looked nice enough that the photo did not take much work. It was good to begin with. Unless you want to focus on the negatives, which of course I would not recommend.
