Hey, It's Hay!

It is that time of year again - time to get hay in the barn so that the horses will have something to eat during the cold winter months. Of course, the irony is that hay grows best in the hottest months of the year. Yesterday turned out to be our day to get hay.

For two horses, we don’t need all that much hay. Sixty bales usually lasts us more than the winter. But when we are sweating in the barn as we put it up, I feel sorry for those who have to get more than we do. It always turns out to be hot, hard work.

But now the work is done, and hopefully we are set for the winter.

Unfortunately, it will probably take my sinuses a few days to recover. Hay fever lives!
