Hawk on a Post

Last weekend we were doing things around the house, enjoying being inside on a cold day. Suddenly, Laura came running into the room where I was, saying, “Come quick! And bring your camera!”

Off I went, and she pointed out through the kitchen window that there was a hawk sitting on one of our fence posts. So of course I had to get a photo. But first I had to run back to the bedroom and change from my wide-angle lens to my zoom lens.

This was the shot that I got. As I was starting to move to get a better view of him, he flew off into a tree, not to be seen again. So while this isn’t exactly the best photo of him, it is the best that I have. Pretty cool to see him just sitting there, looking around, enjoying the day. Until he saw some people through a window looking at him and pointing some strange contraption at him.
