Ever since my first visit to Walt Disney World when I was 12, the Hall of Presidents has always been a favorite of mine. I enjoy the history and the patriotism of the show, and it is pretty cool to see all of the presidents together on the stage.
This time around, I did not try to take any photos during the show. Instead, I just enjoyed watching it, since it was my first time to see the latest version. While it is fun to get photos sometimes, at other times it is good to just watch and enjoy. And that is what I did.
I did, however, get this photo later on that same day. And as I mentioned with another photo, I like how you can see Cinderella Castle from so many places around the Magic Kingdom.
It is just another reminder that none of this is really real.
Differences
It seems to me that back in those early days of my enjoying the Hall of Presidents, there were not quite as extreme differences in people’s positions on things, such as politics. But actually, that probably is not true.
Having read several books and studied history, I now think that there were just as many differences back then as there are now. People did not agree on everything, especially with the positions of the opposing political party. There really has not been too much of a change in the 200+ years of our country.
But there is a difference. What has changed is how we treat others. We seem to have lost a lot of the respect that people used to have for each other. We are no longer concerned about maintaining a sense of dignity and treating each other with the honor that they deserve. I would imagine that social media has contributed to that in some ways, with more people being able to share their opinions with a wider audience and feeling empowered to do so. Also, talk shows that take one-sided views and stir things up have replaced traditional, unbiased news reports for so many people. We have let those kinds of things influence how we treat each other.
When you get right down to it, it all comes down to our attitude toward others. I am not going to agree with you on everything. I can guarantee that, no matter how much alike we might be in many ways. But hopefully, I will still remember that you are every bit as important in God’s sight as I am, no matter our differences. And if I forget that, just remind me sometime.
We are all created equal by our God. And we should treat each other with honor and respect. Even when we do not agree. That will make things so much easier. And better.

About the Photo
I suppose if I wanted it to, because I made up the rules, this photo would qualify as an entry in the 50with50 series since it was taken with the same 50mm prime lens that I am using for that series. However, I intended for that series to be a series of new photos, so how fair would it be to include one taken almost a year ago? So this one will be considered to be outside of the series.
But it was indeed taken with the prime lens. That lens allowed me to open the aperture wide to get this shot at nighttime without a tripod. The lighting was good on the Hall of Presidents, and that helped, too. And being able to brighten up the dark parts using the Raw file in Aurora HDR helped as well.
