Germany at Epcot / Observations of the Past Week

Germany at Epcot

While we were at Germany in World Showcase at Epcot, it was another one of those times of dark, threatening clouds that often seem to follow us around. Not just a normal covering of some light clouds, or even an overcast sky. But rather, some thick, heavy, dark, sinister clouds. But that’s okay, I like them now for the pictures. It looks like something out of a movie. Those people enjoying themselves seem oblivious to their impending doom!

Observations of the Past Week

The usual round-up of thoughts, ideas, ponderings, ruminations, exclamations, imperatives, interrogatives, negatives, positives, and general words of wisdom, found at Twitter and/or Facebook.

They can send a man to the moon, but they can’t design a road that is smooth and won’t develop potholes. (Evidently, that is way more complicated than rocket science.)

No A/C at the office. I might have picked a bad day to start boycotting deodorant. (But I did take a shower, so that counts for something, right?)

Air! We have air! It’s cool to be cool. (You never think it is a necessity until you don’t have it?)

I think they should bring back “What’s Happening”. You can never watch too many reruns of Rerun. (My favorite was the one with the Doobie Brothers as guest stars.)

Sweating my way through Jaylin’s football practice. And I’m just sitting. It’s not the heat, it’s the humidity. Still better than freezing. (Some people say otherwise, but I just don’t listen to them.)

If it’s going to be this dark and cloudy, shouldn’t it just go ahead and rain? (Common sense doesn’t always apply to the weather, evidently.)

Is it just a coincidence that the words “liver” and “livid” are so close? Does liver make you livid? (Actually, liver just makes me leery.)

Back from the meeting, just in time for lunch. Well it isn’t quite time for lunch yet. But it’s close enough, right? (That extra time between a meeting and lunch should be a bonus, right?)

There are a lot of stupid people in the world. And they all have cars and were out driving today. It’s good to be home. (And they all seemed to be aiming for me, too.)

Good news: Today is Friday. Bad news: Doesn’t matter, because today is Friday. (Now that’s good news!)

It’s pretty quiet in all the offices around ours. Several people are gone. The ones still here must be napping. (Or maybe they all left before the hurricane arrives.)

Words from the Bible

“This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.” - John 3:19-21
