The Delta Island area of the Gaylord Opryland Resort at night.

Once again this year, we went to the Lads to Leaders convention at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, Tennessee. It is a huge place, and you almost have to see it to believe it.

We arrived on Thursday evening. And once we got all of our stuff from our car and were inside the hotel, we did not go outside again until Sunday when we left. And it wasn’t as if we were cramped up in one small space, either. The complex is so large that you almost don’t realize that you haven’t been outside in a couple of days.

We actually didn’t mind not going outside, because it rained a good bit while we were there. But we were protected from the weather by glass roofs overhead, such as you can see here.

I had a judges meeting high up in one of the meeting rooms on Friday evening, and this was the view when I came out of the meeting. Pretty cool, I thought, especially seeing much of the Delta Island from up high.

And in case you are wondering, that purple streak near the lower right was from the color-changing lights on the boats that circle the island. Yes, they have a boat ride. Inside. Because it is that big.
