Foggy Morning Down the Road
In the last few weeks, we have had lots and lots of rain. A deluge at times, even (that’s for all you Living Seas people out there, by the way). Anyway, as you may know, sometimes rain is accompanied by fog, particularly in the morning. And fog can often make things look interesting.
On this particular morning, I had grabbed my camera as I was leaving for work in the morning. Because it was during the Christmas school holidays, I got to leave after the sun had come up, which is always nice. Except that this day, you couldn’t see the sun at all because of all the fog. Still, it was light out and not dark, but even with that light, the visibility wasn’t all that great. You could see, but you couldn’t see very far. I’m sure there’s a good metaphor in there somewhere.
Thinking it looked pretty cool, I got out of the car at the end of our driveway and took a photo looking down the street, as the street and the trees vanished off in the distance due to the thick fog. The fog does make the scene look a little eerie as if some horrendous beast of some kind is going to come charging down the street, growling loudly, breathing ferocious fire, and stopping to empty our garbage can and move on to the next house. That is, if you combine horror movies and garbage pickup day. Fortunately, this day was neither a horror movie nor garbage pickup day, although our garbage can was indeed there at the street, just out of the frame. There were cows behind the fence across the street, but no one would ever describe them as horrendous beasts. And they never have emptied our garbage can, either.
So anyway, that was the view. Enjoying a nice morning of fog is much better than living in a fog. Or so I have been told.

About the Photo
There wasn’t much to process on this photo, as it pretty much looked like this straight out of the camera. That’s always nice, and it makes things much easier!
