Family Photos from Lads to Leaders 2018
Family Photo Fun
Every year for the past several years, our family has attended the Lads to Leaders Convention at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, Tennessee. Because the convention ends on Easter Sunday, we have a tradition of taking some family photos for Easter using the hotel’s indoor gardens as a backdrop.
We kept up that tradition this year. Why mess with a good thing? So here are the results of our photo excursion.
First off, here is a photo of the three of us. That is the Old Hickory Steakhouse mansion back behind us. And yes, all of that is indoors, believe it or not. We haven’t used the steakhouse building as a backdrop before, so Laura thought it would be nice to do something different. I like that she is more creative than I am and that she can come up with some good ideas like that.
And here are the other two of us, which would be my parents. Laura wanted to make sure to get the pink flowers in the basket in the photo, and they do add some nice color here.
This one was of Jaylin and his grandparents. This time around, unlike last year, I did not think to bring my tripod with me for our photo excursion, so we do not have any photos of all five of us together. Oh well, I could always Photoshop Laura and me into one of these photos if necessary. Or we could just look back at last year’s photos instead.
Here is one of just Laura by herself. This photo was taken before all of the others because I was testing out my settings for this one. But this test photo is definitely a keeper.
And here is the last one for this year, of just the two of us. Don’t adjust your monitor. This one does definitely look different from the others because I processed it differently. Just to have something different. I think those colors are kind of cool, don’t you?
Another Year
Our visit to Lads to Leaders was once again a big success. We had a great time spending lots of time with our church family and going to all the events we could go to. We had a great time just hanging out in the Hospitality Room with our church people when we got the chance to do that, too.
And we got in our exercise while we were there as well. Each day I logged an average of five miles of walking. If you did not know, the Gaylord Opryland Resort is nice and big, so you spend a good bit of time walking from here to there. But I enjoy that part of it, too.
Now that we have rested up just a little since that trip, we are already starting to look forward to the 2019 convention!
Bible Verse
Therefore, my dear brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord’s work, knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. - 1 Corinthians 15:58
About the photos
I enjoyed playing around with the colors some in the Nik Collection filters and Photoshop, especially with the last photo, as you can see. Because what is the point in having everything look the same all the time?
