Fall Leaves
The fallen leaves of a tree cover part of our front yard. It is interesting to me how they are all from the same tree, yet they are all different sorts of colors.
I always like scenes like this. I guess that is how I know that it really is fall around here. If the leaves are on the ground, then it must be fall.
Also, we aren’t the kind of people to get all into raking leaves to keep them off of the grass. Why bother with that? Just so your yard will look “perfect?” To me, leaves on the grass don’t take away from a yard’s perfection. After all, God made the leaves to fall from the trees, right? Who am I to try to “clean up” what God has done? We just leave the leaves where they are.
Of course, it probably does help that we don’t live in some neighborhood where they have ordinances to make you pick up your leaves. We just live out on our own, where about the only people that see our yard are the three of us who live there. And we are perfectly content with the leaves right where they are.
Leave the leaves alone. That’s what we do.
