Expedition: Everest Sunburst
This view of Expedition: Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, with the sun coming through the trees, was from our trip last Christmas.
Right around the Christmas season, the Disney parks see a sharp increase in crowds, which can turn away some people. And that is understandable. Because most people don’t like large crowds and long lines. However, we were able to do most everything that we wanted to do, and the longest line we waited in was probably 30 minutes.
But there are some benefits in a Walt Disney World trip right around the winter solstice as well. One benefit is for those who are early morning people. We don’t always fall into that category, but we make it a point to be that way when we are at Walt Disney World. Especially during the busy Christmas season, the parks open earlier than usual. And the sun comes up later than usual. Those two events combine to give some rather interesting photo opportunities, such as this one, when the sun is still close to the horizon.
Besides that, Expedition: Everest makes for a good photo most any time of day.
