Evening Balloons in the Magic Kingdom
Good Evening
Balloons float through the evening sky in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, as seen during the 2019 Band and Chorus Disney Trip.
As we were walking along Main Street USA one evening during the trip to Walt Disney World, we came upon a balloon seller selling these balloons. The balloons were right in front of me, and in fact the slight breeze blew them almost in my face. How can you resist taking a photo when something is right there?
I liked the different colors of the balloons, as well as the different styles. They have really come a long way with their balloons in the last few years. Balloons inside of balloons are quite popular right now, it seems.
I also like the evening look here. It had been a beautiful day at the Magic Kingdom, and it was a beautiful evening as well. Slightly cool, but not enough for a jacket. The early March weather in Florida suited me just fine. Although I know that with Florida weather, there is no guarantee that it will be the same weather at the same time next year.
In addition to the cool balloons and the evening sky, you can also see Cinderella Castle peeking out from behind the balloons. Just in case I had forgotten where I was.
Busy Summers
School is almost out. Summer is so close that you can almost lick it. Which is easy to do when the humidity is so high. Just go outside, stick out your tongue, and there you go.
Anyway, with summer rapidly approaching, everyone is asking about summer plans. What are you going to do this summer? Where are you going this summer? Any big plans? Any trips coming up? Going to see any movies? And whatever else. I don’t get asked those questions all that much any more, because my usual answer is that I am going to work most every weekday, just like I always do. But if you have school-age children, or a teacher as a spouse, you have probably heard these questions quite a bit.
When I hear these questions being asked, I usually listen for the answers. They often involve things like summer football practice, church camp, a trip to somewhere, Vacation Bible School, another trip, reading, swimming, and even for some people a summer class.
I then think back to when I was in school. If I was asked that question, my list was never that long. It seems like I had lots of time to just enjoy being home for the summer. Watching TV, reading a book that I wanted to read instead of a required book for school, not getting up early. Maybe a family trip, a week at church camp, and Vacation Bible School. But that was about it.
These days, everyone’s summer sounds so busy, and that is before it even starts. It makes me tired just thinking about it. I long for the good old lazy days of summer, when things were slow and the sunlight lasted a long time. When you could play outside for a while, go inside to cool off, and then go back outside. And then repeat the whole process.
I suppose that some of us come from a time when not everything had to be planned out in great detail. We did not need a calendar to plan out our summers, because there were just a few things, and we could remember them all.
There is a chance that time has simplified and glorified the memories just a bit, but it certainly seems ideal. And it seems that it was a good bit less busy than everyone is now.
I miss those days.
Bible Verse

About the Photo
This photo is slightly blurry. I am well aware of that. And I do not mind it at all.
As I mentioned above, the balloons were blowing slightly in the breeze. The darkness of the hour dictated a semi-slow shutter speed, and so the balloons show some slight motion here. I think that adds a bit of evening atmosphere to the photo, however. I am good with it just like it is.
