Disney’s Boardwalk Resort

Nothing like a calm, quiet afternoon at the Boardwalk Resort at Walt Disney World in Florida. But then probably one of the reasons that it was calm and quiet was that it was also hot! We stuck to the shade as much as we could and enjoyed our snack of soft drinks and ice cream. As well as enjoying all of the neat scenery there, such as this.

Observations of the Past Week (7/9-7/15)

Here are this week’s Observations from Twitter and Facebook. Actually, they were last week’s Observations. Hence the “Past Week” in the title. But if you didn’t read them last week, then you are just now reading them this week. And now I’m confused.

Laura wrapping a gift. Jaylin: Mom, you’re a professional wrapper! Me: I always thought you were more hip-hop. (Nothing like a good wrapping joke when it isn’t even the Christmas season.)

In a small town on a Saturday night, nothing says fun like a trip to the grocery store. (Ah, the exciting life!)

Passed a house with lots of cars. “They must be having a party.” “It isn’t really a party, because we aren’t there.” (Ain’t that the truth.)

“Weather forecast: really hot. If you have to be outside today, don’t.” (And if you don’t have to be outside, consider yourself lucky!)

I heard it was hot outside. I went out to check, but I melted into a puddle and had to swim back in. So I’m not quite sure. (I’m not really sure how puddles swim, by the way.)

The temperature reading on my computer is in red numbers instead of black numbers. I think that means it is warming up. (Red probably means something like “run for your lives!”)

Saw Rodrigo y Gabriela on TV. I think Laura and I will get guitars so we can tour the world. First step: learn to play guitar. (Actually, “get a guitar” would be the first step.)

You know it’s hot when you sweat from just standing around outside at 10:30 at night. (I guess I need to find out what time the heat goes to bed, and then go out after that.)

Just go back and read my posts from yesterday about the heat. Same thing today. (It’s like we’re caught in a redundant loop!)

I have apparently been testing Einstein’s theory today, because it has been a relatively long day. (And relatives apparently had nothing to do with it.)

“Slow” is the word of the day, apparently. (And this was even a different day than the previous post.)

Not quite as hot out today. Just when I was getting used to it. (The temperature has been downgraded from “Ridiculously Hot” to just “Crazy Hot”.)

Today just happens to be the birthday of the best kid around - Jaylin Burns! (It isn’t that day any more, but I still think it bears repeating!)

I can’t think of any movie worth seeing at midnight. I’m a movie fan who likes his sleep. (I don’t even watch TV in my own house at midnight.)

I have big Saturday plans. Unfortunately, they all involve cutting grass. (But then, we have big grass.)
