Disney Springs in the Evening

A Quiet Trip

The Springs Bottling Co. building at Disney Springs in Walt Disney World

The Springs Bottling Co. building at Disney Springs in Walt Disney World glows in light in the evening hours, as seen during our July 2022 Florida Trip.

It is a little-known fact that Laura and I took a trip to Florida in July 2022. We did not say much about it beforehand or afterward, but that does not mean it was a good trip. It was just a little more low-key than our Disney Cruise back in June.

This Florida trip was for parents only. I can’t really say “adults only” anymore, since by most counts Jaylin is an adult now. But this trip was just for Laura and me. Plus, we got to be there on our 29th wedding anniversary, too.

It was a very quiet, laid-back trip, mostly due to a lingering illness. Still, we did lots of things that we enjoy doing. We spent lots and lots of time at the condo pool, only missing one day at the pool during our whole week because we didn’t beat the rain that day. Some days, we had the whole pool to ourselves for much of the time we were out there. And at other times there were several people with us. It was interesting to note the different crowd sizes at the pool, because we went at just about the same time every day. It appeared that early in the week, everyone else had other things to do. But by Thursday and Friday, people were evidently wanting to relax and go to the pool more. We did not mind, because it was not our pool to share, but it was interesting to see who was there and when.

And we made several visits to Disney Springs, too. We were there enough that Level 4 Row 3 of the Orange Garage has been renamed in our honor. What can I say? We are consistent in where we park.

Dinner with a View

On the particular evening pictured in the photo above, we were eating dinner at D-Luxe Burger at Disney Springs. By the way, one of the advantages to eating there is that you can order ahead online, and then you just show up and go find a table, and they bring you your food. No waiting in line!

Anyway, as we were eating, the sun had already set, and the evening lights were on. We had sat outside on the back patio of the restaurant, which gives a great view of the Springs Bottling Co. building, which houses the Morimoto Asia restaurant. And so of course, I could not resist taking a photo of the view.

And the view across the table was even better:

Laura always enjoys getting a shake from D-Luxe Burger. She was enjoying her shake while I was taking photos. And so I took her photo, too. In hindsight, I should have moved my water bottle out of the way. Hopefully, that is not too much of a distraction.

It was a good evening on a good trip!

Good Times in Not Quite Good Times

What do you do when faced with adversity? Throw up your hands and quit? Blame someone for all of your problems? Slam doors, stomp through the house, and sulk? Or do you go forward and make the most of your situation?

This Florida trip was not quite ideal for us. A few things seemed to work against us. But we kept on going. We did what we could. And we did not grumble about what we could not do. We just found ways to enjoy ourselves and make the most of it.

Could things have been better? Yes, they could. Did we still have a good time? Yes, we did! Thankfully, we both had good attitudes about our situation, and our trip turned out to be just fine.

Instead of letting problems get you down, get on top of those problems and move forward in the best way possible!

But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 3:13-14

About the Photos

Believe it or not, I did not take all that many photos on this trip, for a variety of reasons. I took fewer photos during this whole trip than I took in one day on our cruise trip. There is nothing wrong with that, of course. It was just a little different, that’s all. But I do still have several photos from this trip to share, so watch for those in the days and weeks ahead. However, don’t expect a full trip report like I wrote for our June cruise, or for last year’s Florida trip.

I really liked the nighttime view that you see in the first photo. I had taken another photo a little earlier, right when we sat down and were waiting for our food. But as we ate, and as it got darker outside, the view got to be even better, so I took another photo, which is what you see above. The photo of Laura was actually taken after the earlier, unposted photo and before the photo that you see here. But you can probably guess that because of the amount of light in her photo.

I also used some different processing with these photos. They somewhat go back to earlier photos that I used to post here. Maybe I will stay on this processing course for a little while longer.
