Disney Dream Christmas Tree Star
Mickey on the Star
The star atop the Christmas Tree on the Disney Dream features abstract Mickey Mouse shapes, as seen during our 2018 Christmas Disney Cruise.
I took this photo while we were waiting in line to meet the real Mickey Mouse, and I thought it was pretty cool to see these small Mickey Mouse designs while we waited. I don’t know that you could see that detail from the bottom level of the tree, but you could see it from up high.
You may be wondering how we got so close to the top of the Christmas Tree on the Disney Dream. But the answer is actually quite simple. The Christmas Tree is at one side of the main Atrium Lobby, which is open at the sides to decks 4 and 5 up above the main level of deck 3. We were waiting to meet Mickey on deck 4, on the balcony overlooking the center of the Atrium Lobby. at that height, we were right there by the top of the tree. It was nice to have this up-close view.

Topping It Off
I would guess that a star is the most common Christmas Tree topper that there is. Probably followed by an angel as the close second. We have had both at different times at our house. Or sometimes even both at the same time, on our multiple trees. For a year or two, we had a decorative top hat at the top of our tree. This year Laura picked out a light-up Santa with the words “Ho ho ho!” underneath him. It is pretty cool, I think.
I would also guess that the star that is often traditional represents the star in the sky that guided the wise men to the baby Jesus in Matthew chapter 2. Also, the angel would represent the angel that told the shepherds about the birth of Jesus in Luke chapter 2.
There is no law saying what should be on the top of a Christmas Tree. Just as there is no law saying you have to have a Christmas Tree, I guess. It is interesting to see what people come up with sometimes because some people are quite creative.

About the Photo
This photo uses the same bokeh effect as the Christmas Tree Light Bokeh photo posted recently. In fact, this photo was taken with the same camera and lens as that other photo. However, this time around, I wanted to be sure to have the star in focus while the lights in the background were blurred. That was quite easy, partly because of the large distance between the star and the background, and partly because of the wide aperture of the prime lens.
