Discovery River at Disney's Animal Kingdom
Scenic View
The Discovery River flows past the Tree of Life in Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World, as seen during the 2019 Band and Chorus Disney Trip.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom has lots of interesting views. Many of them are a result of the large size of the park. Everything is spread out, and the “hub” of the park, Discovery Island, is separated from everything else by Discovery River that winds around the island.
I always enjoy the views from the different bridges over Discovery River, because they are wide-open vistas like the one above. And I like how so many of those views include the Tree of Life. If you are not aware, the Tree of Life is the centerpiece icon of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, serving the same function that Cinderella Castle serves in the Magic Kingdom. Because of its large size, the Tree of Life can be seen from many locations in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Of course, the Tree of Life is actually an artificial tree and not real. But then so are the Christmas trees that we will be putting up in our house in a few weeks, so who am I to criticize their use of an artificial tree?

Happy November!
November has now arrived, and it has brought the usual results.
You see, every time it is the start of a new month, I find myself saying, “How is it already _______?” And that is the case this month as well. Add to that, “How is this year almost over already?” Because I have been wondering that, too.
Do you remember when we were kids and a year seemed to take forever to go by? Whether it was your birthday, Christmas, the end of the school year, a summer vacation, or whatever else you were waiting for, it seemed like it would never get here.
And then when you get older, it seems like we just had Christmas not too long ago, and now that Halloween is over Christmas will be here again before you know it. Of course, the stores don’t help with that any when they start putting out Christmas stuff at the end of August, but that is another story entirely.
I am sure these last two months of the year will just fly by like the rest of the year has. And it won’t be long before I am saying, “How is it already a New Year again?”
Bible Verse
For he says, “In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation. - 2 Corinthians 6:2
About the Photo
This photo was actually taken in the late afternoon, just before the sun started going down. Thanks to the extra information stored in the Raw file, I was able to bring out lots of detail and blue sky, making it look almost like the middle of the day instead of the end of it.
I also used a slightly dream-like look here instead of having everything look too sharp and using too much contrast. Because this was already a dreamy view to start with. So why try to change it into something else?
