Daily Photo: Up the stairs, down the hall

From here, you can see up the stairs or down the hall from inside the front entry in our house. And you can see into the den at the left, too. So many views from this one place.

I like all the light in this photo, too, and all of it is natural. The morning sun was shining in the kitchen down at the end of the hall, giving a warm glow. The light coming from upstairs and in the den was through windows on the west side of the house - not direct sun, but still plenty of light.

And no, our doorway doesn’t really curve like that - that is just the distortion from the wide lens. I love wide views, even if they do make things look slightly unnatural sometimes.

About the shot:
I went all out and used a bunch of exposures for this one instead of just the usual three, to bring out more detail. Seven exposures (-3, -2, -1, 0, +1, +2, +3) tonemapped in Photomatix, edited in PaintShop Pro. Read more about the photo software I use.
