Daily Photo: Tomorrowland

I spent the summers of my teenage years going to Walt Disney World in the 1980s. Because that is how I first saw it, the Walt Disney World of that time period always will be the one I remember the most. I always enjoyed the Tomorrowland of that time period, with such long-gone favorites as Mission to Mars, CircleVision 360, and If You Had Wings. When Tomorrowland was remodeled in the mid-1990s, it lost much of the look that it had before then. But some places still have a bit of that old feel to them.

One of those places is in front of the Tomorrowland Speedway. The old planter is still there, complete with the futuristic-groomed trees. Even though the buildings in the background no longer have their white color schemes, this place still reminds me of that old Tomorrowland that I fondly remember.
