Daily Photo: O Christmas Tree

Here is a look at our main Christmas tree in our den. I had given a preview of the unfinished tree in today’s earlier post, but this is a look at the finished version. Not a full look, but this one shows some of the details that can be found there.

About the Photo

I was trying out some new things, and I was just going to take a quick shot. I didn’t have time to get out the tripod, so I just set the camera on the table next to the Christmas tree. After I looked at the shot I took on the back of the camera, I decided I liked the composition, so I took brackets for an HDR with the same view. The exposures were merged and tonemapped in Photomatix, also creating a shadowmap layer, and everything was then combined in GIMP for the final product.
