Daily Photo: Lake Russell at the Disney Wilderness Preserve

Lake Russell at the Disney Wilderness Preserve in Florida

One stop we made during our Florida trip was to the Disney Wilderness Preserve, which was quite a treat for us. We enjoyed walking on the trails, especially when the trail wandered over to Lake Russell. I just love views like this, and I don’t know how many different photos I took just in this one location, not to mention elsewhere on the trails.

Despite it’s name, the Disney Wilderness Preserve isn’t owned by Disney, and it isn’t at Walt Disney World. The land was donated by Disney to the Nature Conservancy, which is working to restore it back to its natural condition, and it is about 45 to 50 minutes away from Walt Disney World. If you like nature trails and being outdoors, this just might be for you.

About the shot:
Three exposures (-2, 0, +2) tonemapped in Photomatix, edited in PaintShop Pro. Because of the bright sunlight, I also used a neutral density filter, and it really helped to bring out the colors. Read more about the photo software I use and my camera gear.
