Daily Photo: Haunted Mansion on a Hill

The Haunted Mansion at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom sits on top of a hill in Liberty Square. It is somewhat difficult to get a good view of the mansion. From the courtyard, you can only see the side of it. And here, as you approach the entrance, trees partially block the view. These partial views do serve to give even more mystery to the mansion.

After growing up going to Walt Disney World, I was surprised to find out that at Disneyland you walk right in the front door of the Haunted Mansion, instead of going in at a side door as you do in Florida.

I had thought about trying to get a shot from this angle before our trip, but there wasn’t much time to get it as the crowd was moving along pretty quickly. Fortunately, it turned out just about exactly like I wanted. Three exposures (-2, 0, +2) merged and tonemapped in Photomatix, edited in PaintShop Pro.
