Daily Photo: Gaylord Opryland Resort

I always think it is neat, and a bit amazing, that the whole Delta Island area at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, Tennessee, is inside under a large glass roof. The view is nice during the daytime, but it is even better at night and in the evening, as seen here from the upper level of the adjacent convention area. We had the opportunity to stay there for the Lads to Leaders convention.

If you are wondering, that streak of purple on the left is the lights from one of the boats that circle the island. The boats really don’t go that fast, although it looks like this one is really flying because of the long exposure used here.

About the shot: By the time I had walked from our hotel room across the Delta Island and up the flights of stairs to the meeting room I was supposed to be at, I was pretty winded. But I still stopped for a photo. Three exposures (-2, 0, +2) tonemapped in Photomatix, edited in PaintShop Pro. Read more about the photo software I use. Camera: Canon EOS 60D Lens: Sigma 10-20mm
