Daily Photo: Driftwood on the Beach

This piece of driftwood was sitting in the sand near the lifeguard hut at Lori Wilson Park in Cocoa Beach, Florida. I thought the overcast skies made a perfect backdrop for the wood and the sand.

I did wonder about the piece of wood. Where did it come from? Was it something local, or had it traveled a great distance? Did it just wash up on shore one day?

Who knows what stories this piece of wood might be able to tell, if it could talk.
