Daily Photo: Chinese Theater

Back when the Disney-MGM Studios first opened at Walt Disney World in 1989, I took lots and lots of pictures of the Chinese Theater at the end of Hollywood Boulevard. To me, it was the focal point of the street, and on top of that it had lots of unique angles for photographs. Of course, it is a replica of the real Chinese Theater in Hollywood, too.

Fast forward 22 years. The name of the place has changed to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. And a great big sorcerer hat has sprung up in front of the Chinese Theater. This has made it difficult for me to get good shots of the Theater. The sorcerer hat, that is; changing the name didn’t affect my shots at all. So on this trip, I used my wide angle lens to get several angles of the Chinese Theater that I hadn’t gotten before. Like this one.

I also like that it was still  relatively early in the morning, and they were letting people into the Great Movie Ride through the front door. Not that there were that many people choosing the Great Movie Ride over Toy Story Mania and Star Tours.

And if you are wondering, the brown rocky thing in the upper left is the stone fountain thing in the courtyard. I didn’t bother trying to clone it or crop it out. It is there in real life, after all.
