Cypress Trees in the Swamp
Cypress trees grow in the swamp waters at Shingle Creek Regional Park in Kissimmee, Florida. It is pretty cool how the sun hits some of the trees and some of the water as it filters through the branches and leaves above. Although if I stood in water all of the time like those trees do, I would get tired of my feet getting wet. At least they stick their knees up to keep them dry.
Some will probably look at this photo and think that there is nothing to see here, or that there is no real central focal point to the image. But that doesn’t bother me at all. While in the past many of the photos I have posted have focused on our Disney trips, I am enjoying views (and experiences) like this one more and more. Disney things don’t draw me in nearly as much as they used to these days. Except maybe for the Disney Cruise Line ships and Castaway Cay. Those are still top notch in my book.
To me, this almost looks like a photo you would find in some National Geographic article about “The Forgotten Florida,” or something along those lines. While theme parks can be quite fun, there are definitely a lot of natural things to see in Florida as well. And that natural beauty is every bit as interesting and as photogenic as the cool-looking man-made stuff, if not better.
So on your next visit to those well-known theme parks, why not take a little time to enjoy some of the lesser-known natural beauty, too? You just might enjoy it.
