Curving Tree in Nassau
While we were wandering the streets of Nassau, Bahamas, on our Disney Cruise this past summer, we came across this curving tree. It definitely does catch the eye with its dramatic curve. I would imagine the tree has an interesting story to tell, if only trees could tell stories.
You can see that part of the tree apparently broke off from the left at some point in time, but that doesn’t necessarily explain the first bend to the left, or even why it bends back to the right at that break point. Strange, and interesting at the same time.
And don’t you just love the colors of the buildings in Nassau? I don’t know that I would want my house painted in those colors. But it does give these buildings a fun, colorful look. Do they just do that for us tourists, I wonder?
Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither — whatever they do prospers. - Psalm 1:1-3
