Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake at Walt Disney World
Water World
The Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World is seen from across Bay Lake during our 2019 Florida Summer Vacation.
This view was one of those fun scenes from when we were cruising on a boat on Bay Lake, going from the Wilderness Lodge to the Contemporary Resort. As the boat approaches the Contemporary, it is pretty cool to me to see the hotel buildings as they seem to keep getting bigger and bigger. Of course, that is due to us getting closer to them, because the buildings don’t change size at all.
I do always like this view from across the water because you can see so much of the hotel at one time. It really is fairly spread out, especially since they added the Bay Lake Tower at the right. In between the main building and the Bay Lake Tower, right above the bridge that connects the two, you can see the top spires of Space Mountain. Pretty cool!
Moody
I suppose if you were the kind to analyze things, you would say that this photo has a mood about it. And that mood would be gray. Or maybe almost dark. Maybe gloomy. Or perhaps even threatening. Because those are often the feelings we have with clouds.
But I don’t see it as any of those things. To me, it looks like a fun day. However, my judgment may be clouded (sorry) because I was there that day and I know that we were having a good time. We were not gloomy at all, except maybe over the fact that we were leaving to go home the next day. But the clouds did not bother us at all. We were having a great time.
That just goes to show how one photo does not necessarily capture what is really going on. In some ways it does, but in other ways, it can’t get all of the details that were there, such as how we were feeling or what we were saying.
There is nothing wrong with that at all. But just as you can’t judge a book from its cover, you also can’t always judge a moment from its photo. There is more to the story!
Bible Verse
You visit the earth and water it; you greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water; you provide their grain, for so you have prepared it. - Psalm 65:9
About the Photo
While the gloomy mood was not what we were feeling at the time, I purposefully chose to make the photo look that way. It was taken just a few minutes after the boat photo linked above, and that one has a happier look to it just because of the colors that were used.
This one has a different look, and I chose that because I thought it looked neat, not because of any other reason. Just something different to look at.
