Contemporary Resort at Sunset / Observations of the Past Week

Contemporary Resort at Sunset

While we were visiting some of the Walt Disney World hotels, we decided to ride the boat from the Contemporary Resort over to the Wilderness Lodge. I always have fond memories of riding the boats from Fort Wilderness to the Magic Kingdom, and there is just something neat about being out on Bay Lake, feeling like you are miles away from most all of civilization.

Once we walked down to the boat dock, we turned around and saw the sun setting in the clouds behind the Contemporary. It made for a good shot, I thought.

Observations of the Past Week

Here are the Observations of the Past Week from Twitter and Facebook. But not really from Google+. I’m still making a judgment about that one. Twitter is still my main thing. And no, they didn’t pay me to say that.

It’s not a party until you get out the disco ball. Unfortunately, we don’t have a disco ball. Or a party, for that matter. (But you can’t have one without the other, I’m told.)

Just dropped my kid off for his first day of third grade. Wasn’t it not that long ago that I was in third grade? (A friend reminded me that it was actually 32 years ago. Thanks for that.)

Nothing like the soothing sounds of a jackhammer outside. No, I’m not having any trouble concentrating. Why do you ask? (And just when you think they have stopped, they were only taking a break.)

Today I am officially 40.5, or forty and a half, if you prefer. No gifts, please. Money, however, is always welcome. (DM me to get my address if you are looking to mail one.)

Welcome back, Monday Night Football. Always good to hear the way Gruden says “Sanchez”. (Finally, something to watch on Monday nights again.)

It’s nice to be able to drive to work without turning on the air conditioner. (It was cool enough that I didn’t even have to put the windows down.)

Saw a Cadillac pulling a trailer with a dog in a carrier on the trailer. I guess they really didn’t want the dog in the car. (Poor dog - what did he ever do to the Cadillac?)

Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes - well, you still feel like a nut. (And then other times…)

This has been a long day. Really long. Because it began at 5am yesterday. Time for bed yet? (Nothing like being up all night to make two days in to one long one.)

Rain is glorious sometimes. (Especially when it has been a stranger for so long.)

I dreamed we had an electric car and couldn’t find any place to plug it in. (“If only we had a gas engine!”)

Morning over, lunch over, time for the afternoon. Just stating the obvious. (Sometimes you gotta help other people out.)

Friday, Friday - he’s our day! If he can’t do it, um, okay. (Even when you’re happy about a Friday, a lack of sleep makes rhyming hard.)

So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! - 1 Corinthians 10:12
