Cocoa Beach Walkway

Tight Spaces

A wooden boardwalk leads over the dunes and out to the beach at Lori Wilson Park in Cocoa Beach, Florida, as seen during our 2019 Florida Summer Vacation.

I like these wooden walkways at Cocoa Beach. Frequent Burnsland readers have most likely seen them before. On just about every visit to Cocoa Beach I get a photo of them in some form or another.

However, I do not usually photograph this particular walkway all that often. I usually end up at one of the other boardwalks than this one. There is something different here.

I believe the boardwalks may all be the same size, unless the one that the Cocoa Beach lifeguards use for their four wheeler is wider. But the other boardwalks are not quite as overgrown as this one is. It almost looks like the plant life is about to take over here, because it is growing right up to the edges of the boardwalk.

I could see where that might cause a problem for those who are claustrophobic, although maybe that would only happen for those with extreme cases. Plus, you still have a clear view of the beach down the way, so maybe that helps, too.

I don’t mind the narrow, overgrown pathway, knowing that the beach is just ahead!

What Is Ahead

Sometimes, we can’t always see what is up ahead of us. And unlike the photo up above, I am speaking figuratively here. By that, I mean that we do not always know what the future holds.

Actually, we never really know what the future holds. Sometimes we think that we know. Often, we have planned out what we want the future to be. But many times things do not follow our plans.

What can we do in those situations? We can keep on going to the best of our ability. Be open to adapt if necessary. But always be willing to stick to what you know is right.

The future may not be certain, as far as particular events. But when the going gets tough, keep going!

So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. About the Photo

Back during our summer trip when I took this photo, I immediately knew the sort of look that I wanted to give it. On that day, we were blessed with a blue sky and abundant sunshine during the morning hours, and I wanted to be sure to capture the blue sky showing between all the greenery growing along the boardwalk.

Fortunately, Aurora HDR helped to bring that idea in my head to the actual photo. I like how it almost looks surreal. And I like how you can barely see the beach and the ocean at the end of the boardwalk, giving a glimpse of what is ahead if you keep walking.

This one almost has an “old film” feel to it, and I like that.
