Christmas Trees for 2021

We like Christmas trees in our house. Not just one tree, but several trees. The more, the merrier, as they say. So here are some of the trees in our house this year.

First off, we have this 6’ tree in our bedroom. You might remember that last year we had a beach Christmas tree in our bedroom. This is the same tree in the same place, except with a new theme. As you can see, this tree is now a western Christmas tree. There are crosses, horses, horseshoes, and stars all over this tree. Laura used to put up a western Christmas tree upstairs, but she never did go upstairs enough to fully enjoy it. So instead, she decided to use those ornaments on trees downstairs.

By the way, Laura did all of the decorating on these trees is by Laura, as she is our main tree decorator. I make sure they all have power for the lights, but that is pretty simple because all of the trees in this post are pre-lit trees. That makes it easy!

In our kitchen, just past the door into the house from the garage, you can find this western Christmas tree. This one has a different collection of related ornaments from the previous tree. Here we have horses made from bells, balls with boots on them, and a rusty jingle bell garland. Plus, a cowboy snowman stands guard on the floor below. I like how this tree greets us when we come inside the house.

You can find this next tree at the opposite end of the kitchen from the previous tree, near the den. It has several horse ornaments, from Breyer annual ornaments to carousel horses, and some western glass balls, too. Plus, a metal and glass Christmas star tops off this tree.

In our den, you can find this tree tucked away in a corner between the television and the love seat. Although it is difficult to see them in this photo, glass carousel horses adorn this tree, along with red balls, some of which have a leopard print, while others have red sparkles. This tree sits in the opposite end of the den from our main Christmas tree, and I like how it lights up this corner of the room, which often seems dark when the television is turned off.

Back Under the Sea

And if you are missing our beach tree from last year, don’t worry - it just got relocated to in front of the upstairs window. It also shrunk in size. Except for the first 6’ tree in this post, all of these other trees have been 4’ trees. The smaller size is just fine for our house, too. Laura put this 4’ tree on a small table so that it could be seen through the window from the yard down below. And Island Santa is still there, on the bottom shelf of the table.

I also took this close-up photo of the starfish ornament on the beach Christmas tree. The lighting on the starfish was just right, with both the lights from the tree and the early morning light through the window lighting it up.

So there you have a look at some of the Christmas trees in our house. Nothing too fancy, but they suit our style just fine. And they add some Christmas cheer to the house, too!

About the Photos

I only used the lights from the Christmas trees and the natural lighting in the room for these photos. I would have used the 50mm prime lens for these photos. However, the spaces were too tight for me to get far enough back to get photos of some of the trees. So I used some higher ISO settings than what I would normally use due to the lower light levels, but the photos turned out well.

I also used manual focus on these, because the camera did not want to focus on what I wanted it to focus on. I am guessing that the lower light levels affected the camera’s ability to focus well. So I took control of the focus, just to be safe.
