Christmas Photos from 2020
Happy New Year!
Here’s hoping you had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year! And here’s hoping you don’t mind a few Christmas family photos after the fact. If you do mind, just look the other way, or wait another day or two for a new post.
Still here? Okay, here is the first photo!
This photo was from Christmas morning after we had opened our presents. One present that each of us had received the day before was a set of Mickey or Minnie pajamas from my parents. Of course, we all had to wear them for the night of Christmas Eve and Christmas morning.
And as you would expect, we had to get a photo of ourselves in our matching pajamas, too. I am thankful for a tripod and a self-timer on the camera for times like this.
Christmas with Family
On Christmas Eve, we had a socially distanced Christmas gathering with my parents at their house. We stayed away from each other and wore our masks except when we were eating. And we took them off just before the camera timer opened the shutter here, too. We used their Christmas tree as a barrier between us, too.
Things were definitely different this year, but we were glad to eat together with them.
Christmas with the Riedels
On the day after Christmas, we had our annual gathering with the Riedels. This was the first time we had seen Zach since before all of this COVID stuff started. So it was nice to see him in person and be reminded that he is real and not just an imaginary friend that they talk about!
But seriously, it was good to get together with the Riedels, too, even though things were once again different. As with my parents, we kept our distance, and we kept our masks on except when we were eating, too.
Also, their dog Zoey almost missed the group photo, although you can see her in the lower-left corner. She wanted a better photo of herself, so here she is:
We Burnses are very thankful for family and for friends who are like family. And we are thankful for time to spend together, even when we have to make some adjustments to do it.

About the Photos
As you can tell, for each of these photos I used a tripod and the self-timer. What you can’t tell is that each photo took a couple of tries to get right. But everyone was a good sport about it, and I appreciate that. Usually, there aren’t too many groans when the camera comes out. I am sure we will all appreciate having these photographs for the memories sometime in the future.
