Christmas Cowgirl Laura
Laura dressed as a Christmas Cowgirl Mrs. Claus to be Santa’s helper for our church’s Breakfast with Santa last weekend. With a special appearance here by Santa Mickey and Minnie, who just happened to be standing near our Christmas tree as well.
When Laura learned that our usual Santa had recent surgery and might need help getting the kids on and off his lap, she jumped at the chance to help. And when she and the photographer discussed having a rustic/western photo background, she was even more excited about it. So she found a Christmas Cowgirl costume online and ordered it. If you know Laura, you know that suits her perfectly. Mrs. Claus never looked better!
Before we left to go to the breakfast, I got a quick photo of her in her western duds in front of the Christmas tree. We did a few poses, but we both liked this one the best after she picked up Mickey and Minnie. Isn’t it nice that their colors matched perfectly?
The breakfast event went well and raised lots of money for children’s homes that our church supports. If you would like to see a video from the day, you can watch it at the Bartlett Woods website.
You might not be able to catch it in the video, since everything goes by so quickly, but we did get a photo with Santa, too. Here is what the video camera caught:

About the photo:
Sometimes for photos such as this I will set up the remote flash, but it was time to leave, so I just used the ceiling light in our den instead. Yes, this photo is grainy. I intentionally added in the grain to give it some texture, because after my initial processing everything looked too smooth. I liked how the grain, lighting, and colors give it an “old photo” feel, which matches Laura’s costume well.
