Celebration Post Office
On our visit to Celebration, Florida, last summer, we came across the Celebration Post Office. Actually, I was on the lookout for it as we were wandering through the town. I had seen a photo of the post office building in one of the books I have about Disney architecture, and it stuck with me. So I wanted to be sure to see it in person.
Designed by noted architect Michael Graves, the post office building is simple and yet interesting at the same time in its combination of round and rectangular shapes. As you may know, Michael Graves also designed the Swan and Dolphin hotels, as well as the Team Disney building in California. This post office building features some of his preferred colors which he uses on many of his projects.
In person, the building was slightly smaller than I had imagined it based on the photo I had seen, and it was somewhat tucked away without much fanfare. But I was still happy to see it and to get this photo of it. Just to say I was there.
For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. - Romans 12:3
