Celebration Movie Theater
On our recent Florida trip, one of the stops we made was in the town of Celebration, Florida. If you aren’t familiar with it, Celebration is a community near Walt Disney World that was originally developed by the Walt Disney Company. We had driven past it several times, and this time we decided to see what we could see.
We enjoyed seeing some of the homes as we drove by, but we really enjoyed the business district. One of the landmark buildings was the Celebration Movie Theater, pictured above. I like the tall towers reaching up to the sky. Pretty cool architecture. Of course, I am not a professional architecture critic, or even a serious student of architecture, so your opinion of this building may be way different from mine. But I like it.
Unfortunately, this building is actually the former movie theater, because the operator, AMC, moved out a couple of years ago, leaving this intriguing building vacant. That is really a shame, although I know that it was most likely strictly a business decision.
At least for now the building is still there. Hopefully, they will find a new tenant for it soon. And hopefully, that new tenant will recognize the architectural value of the building.
