Cabanas on the Disney Dream
Cabanas restaurant on the Disney Dream, one of the Disney Cruise Line ships, is a buffet restaurant open for breakfast and lunch with some great views out the windows.
On our recent cruise on the Disney Dream, we found ourselves in Cabanas even more often than we had been on our previous cruise. Cabanas has always been our usual breakfast choice, because everyone can find something that they like from the buffet.
But on our recent cruise, we ate lunch there a few times as well. And as with breakfast, we all found lots that we liked there. Some of us probably found more than we should have, actually. That’s the problem with buffets. There are usually too many options to choose from, especially when they all look good. And when you have spent several morning hours walking around the streets of Nassau out in the heat, for just one example, everything looks good.
Besides the good food, we had another reason to visit Cabanas frequently. The easiest way to get to the upper decks of the ship from our stateroom was to take the elevator nearest to our room. And that elevator went right up to Cabanas. To get out to the deck, we had to walk through Cabanas, even when the restaurant itself was closed. One of those occasions was when I took this photo. Just a quick shot as we were making our way through on the way to somewhere. Perhaps the ship people might not like this photo all that much, because it looks like no one is eating in their restaurant. But trust me when I say that when it was eating time, none of those tables would be empty. Especially the ones near the windows with the nice view of the ocean.

About the photo:
While this photo has a bit of the HDR look to it, this was made with just one RAW exposure. As I usually do, I turned the highlights down and the shadows up in Adobe Camera Raw when opening the RAW file into Photoshop. I also used a Burn layer to darken up the water out the window some more.
