Boardwalk and Blue Skies at Walt Disney World
Sunny and Bright Boardwalk
The Boardwalk Resort and a bright blue sky on a sunny day at Walt Disney World in Florida, as seen during our 2019 Florida Summer Vacation.
This one photo captures much of what we see on our visits to the Boardwalk. The buildings always look cool, of course, as they do here. And I like the games and caricature location off to the left. Those are usually not open when we are there, because we haven’t been there in the evening before.
And then there are people, too. Not too many people. In fact, you almost might not notice the people at first. But they are there.
Then there are those clouds. It seems that we always have interesting clouds when we visit the Boardwalk. Sometimes they are light like these. At other times, they are dark and menacing. But either way, they are usually interesting.
What’s New?
In many ways, this photo is something new, as far as processing goes. More on that in the “About the Photo” section below. But first, some thoughts about new in general.
Over the last few years, I have really developed a fondness for new. I like to find a new way to process photos. A new book can make me seriously consider not finishing what I am currently reading. New movies are exciting because I haven’t seen them before and don’t know what happens. A new route to work can be a refreshing change. A new shirt from my favorite clothes place is fun. And on and on.
I keep trying new things to get the Burnsland website to load faster for you. Other little changes that you may or may not notice count as new, too. I haven’t completely redone the visual theme here in a while, although I have experimented with a few things. In that case, new was not quite as good as old. But in so many other examples, finding something new is pretty cool for me.
That is a little funny because I never have been that big on change. And I think I am still not all about change. A new way of doing things can still be the old way but in a new way. If that makes any sense at all. Something new does not have to be an all-out change. It can be, but it does not have to be.
I know a lot of people look for something new at the beginning of the new year. Maybe that is partly why we call it the new year. But I like finding new things all year long. Those little new things can keep life from feeling too ordinary. Any time of year.
Bible Verse
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. - 2 Corinthians 5:17-18
About the Photo
As I mentioned, this photo is somewhat new. Not new in the sense of when it was taken, because it comes from our trip that was over 6 months ago now. But maybe a bit of a new approach to processing.
I have shared a few photos with somewhat bold looks like this from time to time, but not all of the time. And I still may not do it all of the time, but I am planning on some more bold processing looks like this for a while. We will see how long that lasts before I move on to the next new thing.
As I have done recently, this photo was processed in Aurora HDR, and I really turned up the HDR settings for this one to give it that bold look. And lots of color saturation, too. I really liked the texture of the clouds here, and that was almost not visible in the original photo. This new version is much more interesting.
