Blue Sky and Spring Morning

Blue and Green

Blue and green fill the frame in this spring view from our front yard early one morning. The blue of the sky was just magnificent.

I had just finished feeding the horses as the sun was coming up one morning. It looked like the light was going to be good as the sun made its way up, so I went inside and grabbed my camera. The sun’s rays hit the tops of the trees just as I was taking this photo, and you can see some yellow tones on the budding leaves and pine needles. The grass (weeds, actually) is showing a nice green color. That green actually looks deeper green here than it does in full sunlight. But green weeds are better than brown grass right now. Plus, there will be more and more green as the trees fill out with leaves.

On top of all of that beauty, it was rather warm outside, too. A few days after I took this photo, we had a cold snap with freezing temperatures in the morning. It is much easier to linger outside with my camera on a warmer morning, as it was at this time.

Even with a few cold mornings, spring is coming along nicely.

What’s the Point?

You might be looking at this photo and wondering what the point of it all is. There really is not anything new or amazing to see here. This is just a spring morning view in our front yard.

The main point of it all was to have a chance to do some of the things that I love. For example, I love taking photos. Those photos do not necessarily have to be of something amazing or some exotic location. Sometimes, our front yard is exotic enough. I did think it was a nice view compared to what we had been seeing all winter, so I wanted to capture the scene.

Another thing I enjoy doing is sharing photos with you here on the website, so this photo allowed me to do that, too. I thought this photo was nice enough to share and hopefully brighten your day just a bit, so here you go. Creating a new web post, even a somewhat routine one, is enjoyable for me. It is even better if someone enjoys seeing it.

Take some time to do what brings you joy.

Bible Verse

So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. - Philippians 2:1-2

About the Photo

I really wanted to bring out the blue of the sky here, because it was a brilliant blue on this particular morning. The challenge was in not having the clouds look too washed out. I had originally lightened the photo some so that you could see more detail in the pine tree, but that messed up the sky and the clouds. So I left the trees and grass darker to bring out the best points of the photo.

This photo almost looks like it only has shades of blue and green in it. But if you look really hard, you can see a few other colors, too. I might not always prefer quite this much blue in a photo, but it perfectly captures the morning that we had.
