Blue Bicycle on Castaway Cay
This blue bicycle was parked by the the bike path on Castaway Cay, the private island of the Disney Cruise Line. I was out for a walk to take a few photos while everyone else was off doing other things, and I just happened upon this scene. I don’t think it would have been any better if I had planned it out and placed the bicycle there. The blue contrasted with the green of the vegetation nicely, and it went along well with the blue of the sky.
Just another way that a day at Castaway Cay is a perfect day.

Summer’s Gone
Despite the fact that the calendar says that summer lasts until late September, summer ended at our house yesterday morning, because that was when Laura had to start back to school. And summer ends even more finally next Monday when Jaylin starts back to school, too.
I suppose it could have been worse. The public school teachers around here had to start back last week, and the students started back yesterday. I suppose the good side to that is that everyone should be out before Memorial Day instead of going to school into June, but that doesn’t make it seem much better right now.
I guess we have really been easing into the end of summer around here, because in a way it felt like the summer was drawing to a close when Jaylin started football practice last week. It was still hot and humid out as we were sitting at practice, and that is much better than those cold, bleak practice evenings later on in October, but still, you could feel the end of summer in that hot air.
I can’t complain too much, because we had a pretty good summer. A Disney cruise for us and our friends, a trip to the lake with our friends, an adults-only trip for just the two of us, and lots of other fun activities, too. So it was a good summer, but it just never lasts long enough, it seems.
It always takes me a little while to adjust back to the schedule of getting up an hour earlier than I get up in the summer to go to work. The biggest problem is when I start getting hungry for lunch at 10:30 instead of 11:30.
Fortunately, I have my bag of M&M’s to keep me company.
