Birthday Beach

Cocoa Beach

Okay, so I am not at the beach today, but it is my birthday, and I figured that I might as well enjoy the view however I can. Wouldn’t it be nice to be there now? The seagull seems to be enjoying it, too.

Yes, today is the 17th anniversary of my 25th birthday. Or you could say that I just wrapped up my 42nd trip around the sun. Which doesn’t make me 43, by the way. You can figure that out.

I haven’t always been a fan of getting older. But so far, 42 doesn’t feel all that different than any other year. At least, any of the recent years. I can’t remember how I felt a whole lot of years ago.

This morning, I had the customary birthday email explosion, thanks to notifications from Twitter and Facebook. And no, I don’t mind that at all. Always nice to know that people care, even if it is electronically.

Surely it doesn’t mean that I am getting older if I enjoy the fact that my office chair rocks, even if it isn’t technically a rocking chair, right?

Maybe it just means that I rock.
