Big Hill Pond Boardwalk Through the Trees
During our visit to Big Hill Pond State Park in Tennessee, the leaves were just starting to change to their fall colors. That created some wonderful views.
Just before we walked along the boardwalk across the lake, I took this photo of the boardwalk through the trees. In fact, Laura and Jaylin had already started across, and you can see them through some of the leaves.
We did not necessarily go there to see the fall colors, because the prime color time had not hit yet. But we were happy to see some of the leaves already starting to change. Just an added bonus to our fun day at Big Hill Pond.
It is always interesting to see the change in seasons. The change from summer to fall is my favorite, which is odd because I hate to see the warm summer temperatures end. But the brilliant colors of the fall palate lit by the sun at its lower angle are a good consolation for the cooler weather. Even if those colors do not actually help me keep warm.
Although our schedule has not permitted it this year, it would be great to go to one of the nearby parks such as Big Hill Pond now that the fall colors are at their strongest. I am sure it is like a fall wonderland there with multicolored leaves on the trees and on the ground. So much beauty of nature to enjoy. While those who live in cities get to see a few trees changing colors here and there, you really have to go away from the man-made world and out into the natural world to truly enjoy the beauty of fall. Once you have done that, you won’t regret it. The trip will definitely be worth your time.

About the photo:
Unlike many of the photos that I share here, I really did not do all that much to this one. I imported the Raw file into Photoshop, balancing out the levels during import. This brought out the blue in the sky while keeping the detail in the tree bark. I also adjusted the color balance slightly to bring out the fall colors even more. However, this one was pretty simple compared to some of the photos that I process. I suppose this one was almost just right from the very beginning.
