Beach Club at Walt Disney World
Bright Blue
The blue walls of the Beach Club Resort blend in with the blue sky at Walt Disney World, as seen during our 2019 Florida Summer Vacation.
I love the sunlight and the blue sky in this photo. It seems that so often when we visit the Epcot Resorts we get some cloudy skies, such as in this Beach Club photo from 2017. However, this time the sun was out and the clouds were few. So while the cloudy view is interesting, this sunny view looks nice and happy.
To me, the bright blue walls and the white trim look even better in the golden glow of the sunlight. While the Yacht Club has a gray color scheme, this blue scheme of the Beach Club really stands out in the sun.
Of course, with the sunshine comes the heat. So we were hot and happy, I suppose. We were thankful for the shade in the area. The shade is always welcome on a day like this one.
And hello to the random family who walked through as I was taking the photo, whoever you are!

Who You Go With
Part of the fun of traveling is where you go. After all, that is one of the main reasons to go: the actual going, venturing out to someplace different, perhaps somewhere that you have not been before.
But another part of the fun is who you go with. I see posts from solo travelers from time to time, and there is certainly nothing wrong with that if that is your thing. However, for me, I like having someone there with me to share the experiences with.
As you might guess, that person that I prefer to travel with is Laura.
We have been lots of fun places together, and we have see all kinds of interesting things together. We know what we like, what we can do, what we can’t do, and what we would rather not do. And we usually have a good time doing it.
I have been on some of Jaylin’s school trips where I have roomed with another one of the dads when Laura was not able to go. The other dads are always nice guys, and sharing a room is more cost effective than having your own room. But it just isn’t quite the same as traveling with Laura.
I hope you have someone that you enjoy traveling with. If you are married, I really, really hope that person is your spouse. Because if it were someone else, that would just be a little strange.
And yes, if you are wondering, Jaylin was on this trip as well. He is the one that took this photo of the two of us.

Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her. - Ephesians 5:25
About the Photo
As I mentioned above, and as is obvious from the photo, it was bright and sunny on the day that I took this photo, at least at this particular moment. You know how rapidly the Florida weather can change.
Because of the intensity of the sunlight, I had a variable neutral density filter on the camera, which darkens things up a bit. With the filter, even with this bright sunlight I was able to use a shutter speed of 1/250 of a second at ISO 100. I prefer the slower shutter speeds like that instead of something like 1/2000 second. Personal preference, I guess.
Also, I used Aurora HDR to bring out the shadow detail, or in other words to make the areas where there were shadows look brighter. Otherwise, the sunny part of the building would look really bright while the shady part would look really dark. This balanced look suits my tastes more.
