Bank of Holly Springs

Bank of Holly Springs in Mississippi

The Bank of Holly Springs is one of the many interesting buildings I found on the town square in Holly Springs, Mississippi.

In some ways the stone facade with the large columns looks out of place when seen next to the other more typical main street style buildings. But in other ways, the imposing facade gives the bank a good bit of importance.

Putting a date on this photo would possibly be rather difficult just from looking at it. Except for the fact that you know I took it a few weeks ago. Of course, the lighted sign and street light indicate that this is from the relatively modern age. But besides those additions, it looks like things haven’t changed very much on this corner in a long, long time.

Which is exactly why I enjoy visiting places like this.
