Atlantic Dance at Disney's Boardwalk Resort
Reflections of the Boardwalk Resort
A view of the skyline of the Boardwalk Resort, including the Atlantic Dance Hall, at Walt Disney World, as seen during our 2019 Florida Summer Vacation.
I have not ever been inside the Atlantic Dance Hall at the Boardwalk Resort, and I actually don’t know much at all about it. But when you look at this photo, those words just automatically jump out at you, because they are the only words you can read in the photo (besides the Burnsland logo, of course, but that doesn’t count). So how can you not title the photo based on that?
I always like the wide-open views at the Epcot Resorts. It is pretty cool to walk from one resort to another and see yet another resort across the lake. As you can probably tell, we were not actually at the Boardwalk Resort when I took this photo. We were actually at the Yacht and Beach Club across the lake, in case you were wondering. If you can get an interesting sky while you are walking around the resort, that makes the photo opportunities even better. And that is just what happened here.
Of course, you can’t control the clouds. You just have to take what God gives you. If I were in control here, I would have had the blue sky spread out just a little more so that it was not just over one side of the photo. But the sky was just like you see it here, so it is fine with me.
Fall Weather or Winter?
Recently, I have been missing those warm summer temperatures such as we felt in the photo above. We were sweating at that time, and right now that sounds wonderful.
In the last week or so, we have had temperatures as low as 14 degrees. That is Fahrenheit, by the way, not Celsius. Yes, that is cold. Yes, we don’t usually have temperatures like that in November.
I would put on as many clothes as I could to go outside. Part of me would be sweating, while other parts of me (like my hands and feet) would be frozen, even with gloves and thermal socks on. I don’t know how people who live up north stand it. Except that you just get used to it over time.
Fortunately, that was just a cold snap, and hopefully, it is not a sign of the winter that is ahead.
However, it is not entirely unusual. You might remember that last year we had snow in November. We did not have any snow with this particular cold snap, but I think that was because it was just too cold to snow. Maybe that isn’t a scientific thing, but it sounds plausible to me.
Here’s hoping you are warm, no matter how cold the weather may be where you are!

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. - James 1:17
About the Photo
The look of this photo is a variation of the look of the Cocoa Beach Lifeguard Hut photo posted recently. This one is not quite as brown, but still the same kind of look. I was still just trying different settings to see what sorts of looks I could get. I did want to capture the interesting look of the sky, and I think this did capture that well, bringing out the drama of the sky.
