At the Beach

Cocoa Beach, Florida

Sand and sea oats on the beach at Lori Wilson Park in Cocoa Beach, Florida.

Okay, I admit the title of this post may be slightly misleading. Because I am not at the beach. I wish I were at the beach, but I am not. So I suppose it is a statement of wishful thinking rather than a statement of what I am actually doing. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could just say something and then be doing it? Or wouldn’t it be nice if we had those transporters like they have on Star Trek? That way, we could just beam over to the beach for a while, and then beam right back. Whoever is working on that invention needs to step up their efforts a bit. I wonder if they have a Kickstarter?

Around here, the first few days of spring have been cold and dreary. In the back of my mind, I know it can be cold at the beach, too. And in fact it often is, especially in the northern coastal states. But at least in my imagination, the beach is always sunny and warm. And if it happens to be raining instead of sunny, at least it is still a warm rain. That’s how I like to picture it.

So do me a favor and don’t spoil my dreaming, okay?
