Another Snow Photo - 50with50 No. 6
A Different Snow View
Another view of the light snow we received in early February, which is the 6th entry in the 50with50 series.
Because snow is so interesting to see for those of us who do not get to see it that often, here is another photo to go along with the previous snow photo posted earlier.
You can see here that the clouds were starting to move out, as that edge that you can see was the back edge of the snow clouds. It had stopped snowing earlier, and the clouds were about to leave us. Pretty cool to see an obvious change in conditions coming at you like that.
As mentioned, this was that same snow day as before. Which was really just a snow morning instead of an entire snow day. And this view really shows how the snow was mainly on the grassy areas. It quickly melted on the roads, and it even quickly melted on our gravel driveway. Interestingly, it did not fill in the ruts in the grass where someone had driven through the yard. I won’t mention the name of the driver, but it does rhyme with Baylin Jurns. Actually, he is not the only one to drive through our yard. He just happens to be the most recent.
Not a Showcase
But that does not matter all that much to me, because our yard is definitely not a showcase. It will never win Yard of the Month. It will never even get 1,260th place in that contest. Our yard stands a much better chance of getting voted “You Call That a Yard?” It has grass and weeds and stuff. But it is just fine for us. When delivery people or others with large vehicles come to the house, I always tell them that they are welcome to drive through the yard to turn around. I don’t mind as long as they don’t get stuck and have to stay. Although we would gladly offer them dinner if they were stuck for a while. So I might tease Ja.., er, someone about driving through the yard, but it definitely is not the end of the world.
There is nothing wrong at all with having something that you are proud of. It is great to have something that you care about and have put a lot of time into. If your yard is that thing, then that is just fine. Unless it gets to the point where your yard consumes you and starts to come in between you and things that are more important.
To paraphrase the old story, no one ever said on his deathbed, “I wish I had spent more time working on making my yard look beautiful!” Because that is not one of the most important things in the world.
Do what you enjoy, enjoy what you do, and keep the most important things at the top of your list.

About the Photo
As with all of the 50with50 photos, this one was taken with a 50mm prime lens, obviously. And in the snow, obviously. I liked the bright look of this one, and it is a little brighter than the previous snow photo. After all, it is slightly difficult not to have a bright snow photo, since snow is all white and bright. So the brightness wins out here.
