Adventureland in the Evening at Walt Disney World

Tribal elements and an interesting light fixture mark the entrance to Adventureland in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, as seen during the 2019 Band and Chorus Disney Trip.
As we were walking through the Magic Kingdom on this particular evening, I happened to like this angle of Adventureland things. If you can’t quite place it, the sign/archway thing welcoming you to Adventureland is to the right. This view is looking at the backside of that entrance element, back toward the Central Plaza. In fact, if you have not yet noticed it, the top spires of Cinderella Castle are right in the center of this photo.
We were rushing from one thing to another, because our time in the Magic Kingdom was limited and we had several things that we wanted to do. So it was a nice break to stop long enough for this photo, even if it is not the standard “big attraction” photo that you might take at Walt Disney World.
Just another one of those interesting finds that you can see if you look for them.
Notice the Details
I don’t know about you, but so many times I notice the big things and miss the small things. For instance, when we are in the Magic Kingdom, I notice Cinderella Castle. Or Space Mountain, or some other large architectural feature. Those are pretty difficult to miss, actually, because they are so big.
However, I sometimes miss the small details that are right there in front of me. In the scene above, I almost don’t notice the drum on top of the archway, or the spears at the left, or the totems and headdress on top of the poles. But there they are, just waiting to be found, if you happen to be looking for them.
Sometimes, those seemingly small details can be people. As we rush through our lives, don’t forget to notice the people around you. Find out how they may be feeling or what might be bothering them. Find out what they like and help them to find more of that.
You never know when noticing those small details might pay large dividends in the future.

About the Photo
As I often, say, this photo ended up quite a bit different from the original thanks to processing it with Aurora HDR. For proof, here is the original photo without any editing at all:

For this photo, I definitely wanted to the sky to be blue instead of the hazy gray that it looked in the photo. That was the biggest accomplishment of the processing techniques. But I was also able to bring out some of the detail in the elements on the entry arch and other areas. Those are not lost in the shadows in the final version as they almost were in the original photo.
And I still really like that light fixture, too. It adds something good to the photo, I think.
