We found this cabin in the woods near the creek at Shingle Creek Regional Park in Kissimmee, Florida, during our recent visit. The cabin is back there behind the trees, if you can’t see it. It sure looks like a nice place to live, doesn’t it?

Actually, right next to the cabin is some sort of maintenance shed that is a good bit larger than the cabin. The good thing about the view from across the creek is that the trees block the view of the shed if you are standing in just the right place. But if you are across the creek, the shed really overwhelms the cabin, reminding you that you are in the modern world.

But really, the people that lived in that cabin way back when might have wished they had a nice, futuristic (for their time) shed to keep all of their things in. So maybe it is all just in how you look at it.

Jaylin Makes a Tackle

While the college and pro football seasons are still not officially underway, Jaylin’s elementary school football season has already started, because their first game was last Thursday night.

It was an exciting game, even if Jaylin’s team lost. They did play well. Because Jaylin is a 5th grader on a 5th and 6th grade team, he didn’t get to play all that much. But late in the second half when someone else needed a break, Jaylin finally had his chance to go in. And he did well.

Here in the center of the photo, Jaylin wears number 4 in the white uniforms, and he is starting to make a tackle on the ball carrier of the other team. Jaylin was able to bring him down here, and he made a couple of other tackles while he was in, too. He did only get be in on one play on offense, but that’s okay. He will have his chance when the time comes.

Football season is always exciting!
