A Beach at Castaway Cay
This quiet corner of the family beach at Castaway Cay, the private island of the Disney Cruise Line, looks almost deserted, doesn’t it? If you look closely, you can see a few people off in the background, but there aren’t too many of them.
But rest assured, the island was anything but deserted when we were there. There were people all over the beach, as you would expect. However, this photo was from late in the afternoon when many people had probably had enough of the beach and had gone back to the ship. They probably got tired of waiting all day for the sun to come out. Or they just got tired from having lots of fun without worrying every five minutes if they had on enough sunscreen. Or they wanted to see a movie on the ship. Or they wanted to make sure to see the theater show on the ship. Or they got mad because I was still out there on the beach and they gave up thinking that I would eventually leave.
No matter what the reason, the beach was much less crowded in the afternoon. So if you go on a Disney Cruise and you really like the beach, you just might find that the afternoon hours on the Castaway Cay beaches are much more to your liking.
Unless of course, you like being at the beach with lots of other people. And that’s fine, too.
